North Carolina NA Registry In-Facility Test Center

On successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training course at GTCC (NA I, or NA I Refresher), you must pass the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry exam in order to be listed on the Nurse Aide I Registry. Registry listing is a requirement in North Carolina to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. GTCC is a Designated Testing Center for both the written and skills portions of the Nurse Aide Registry Exam. This allows you as a student to test in a familiar environment with equipment you are familiar with working around. To apply for your examination please refer to the link and reference the latest edition of the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Candidate Handbook (PDF).

YOU MAY NOT REGISTER UNTIL YOU RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL FROM PEARSON VUE GIVING YOU A REGISTRATION LINK.  Once you receive this email, you may establish your profile for testing and select your test date.  As a candidate, you are strongly encouraged to test as soon as you can which provides you the best opportunity for passing the exams. Remember the Open Labs are available for you, even after you graduate, to return to GTCC and practice your skills prior to your test date. There is an Instructor available to assist you during every Open Lab date. For a schedule of Open Lab dates, times and locations, click on the NA OPEN LAB SCHEDULE.

The testing dates for 2017

  • August 26 (application deadline is 5:00 pm on August 14)
  • September 9 (application deadline is 5:00 pm on August 25)
  • September 23 (application deadline is 5:00 pm on September 7)
  • October 21 (application deadline is 5:00 pm on October 9)
  • November 18 (application deadline is 5:00 pm on November 6)
  • December 9 (application deadline is 5:00 pm on November 27)

If you are successfully scheduled to test at GTCC, you must be in the classroom, James Williams Hall room 201, no later than 7:30 am on your scheduled test date.
